Do I get to choose my band-mates?
Bones is the master-scheduler so he decides the band line-ups based on a number of factors. These include but aren’t limited to; ability, availability and inclusiveness. He doesn’t necessarily put the most accomplished players in one band and the least in another. Rok Skool expects the seasoned musicians to lift up and support their less experienced band-mates. This philosophy creates an encouraging environment that fosters much more cohesive groups.

When will my group meet?
Bands meet after school Mon.- Thurs. usually 4:15-5:45 or 6:30-8pm.
Bones will let you know what slot your band will be in as soon as he can but the schedule is fluid until school actually starts. If you have a regular activity that might effect what day(s) you can participate, let Bones know asap.

Can I choose my own songs?
Yes! Your band will all suggest tunes for the session and vote on the ones you will play.
There are two criteria; The overwhelming majority of the audience at your showcase would agree that your songs are appropriate and your band must be able to actually learn them in a session!

it is very difficult on a band when someone is absent, you will miss all the progress we make and take up valuable time at the next rehearsal catching you up. The band will also have to endure Bones playing and singing your parts!
That said, life happens. If you have to miss a class, please give us as much notice as possible.

Do I get a refund if I miss a class?
No, with very few exceptions for extenuating circumstances.

What if I want to join an after-school activity that conflicts with my Rok Skool session?
We encourage kids to participate in extracurriculars that make them well rounded citizens.
If you want to be in an after-school activity that might conflict with Rok Skool, you will need to work with the organizer of that activity to ensure you can still attend all Rok Skool practices prior to committing to us. With enough advanced notice, Bones will attempt to schedule you or your band in a time-slot that allows for participation in both, especially if the organizer is also willing to be flexible. If you need Bones’ help to advocate with a coach or organizer, please contact him ASAP and he will do what he can. Bones does his best to work with organizers of one-off events such as Drama Club productions to schedule around occasional conflicts with our rehearsals.
